About the Team OpenAI’s Product & Research Communications team helps people understand our technology, what it makes possible, and how to use it. We work closely with teams across the company to bring new products and research to the world, tell stories grounded in real experiences, and build trusted relationships with journalists. About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on communications leader to own the launch strategy and storytelling for OpenAI’s frontier AI models across ChatGPT and the API. You’ll turn advances in model capabilities into clear, compelling stories for research, developer, customer, and consumer audiences. You’ll get into the details with researchers, engineers, and product teams to understand what has changed, what the evidence shows, and what people can do with it. That means working through evaluations, exploring model behavior, and finding concrete examples that make an advance clear without losing its limitations. This role calls for technical curiosity and strong editorial judgment. You should be as comfortable working through an evaluation with a researcher as writing a launch blog, shaping a media strategy, or preparing a leader for an interview.
